Quotation Approval Workflow (Maker-Checker)
Turn on internal approval, understand submit/approve, self-approval rules, and who can send.
Step 1
Open Quotation settings → Workflow
Go to Settings → Quotations and find the Workflow section. It shows how many members can approve quotations.
Step 2
Decide if you need approval
With approval off (default): Draft → Mark ready → Approved. With approval on: Draft → Submit → Pending approval → Approved. Approval is most useful when two or more people can approve.
Step 3
Enable approval and set send policy
Turn on "Require internal approval before sending" and choose who can send after approval: Approver only (default), or Maker or approver (the creator can send once approved). Save workflow.
Step 4
Understand self-approval rules
A creator normally cannot approve their own quotation (maker-checker). If you are the only person who can approve, Invoism allows you to approve your own quotation and records it as self-approved for audit, so it never gets stuck.
Step 5
Run the flow
On a draft, use Submit to move it to Pending approval, then an approver uses Approve. Rejecting internally sends it back as Rejected.
Expected outcomes
- Approval requirement is configured for your team
- You understand the Draft → Pending approval → Approved flow
