What are Amazon seller fees?
Amazon charges referral fees (category-based %), FBA fees (if using Fulfillment by Amazon), COD fees (if enabled), and GST on these fees.
How is GST calculated on Amazon fees?
GST at 18% is applicable on Amazon's referral and FBA fees. This is charged separately from product GST. COD fees are not subject to GST.
What is the difference between FBA and FBM?
FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) means Amazon handles storage and shipping. FBM (Fulfillment by Merchant) means you handle it yourself.
What is the COD fee on Amazon?
Amazon charges a flat COD handling fee (typically ₹35-50) per order when Cash on Delivery is enabled. Prepaid orders have no COD charges.
Why do COD fees apply to both FBA and FBM?
COD fees are charged by Amazon for payment processing, not for fulfillment. Even if you handle shipping yourself (FBM), Amazon still manages cash collection from customers through courier partners, payment reconciliation, fund transfers to your account, and risk management (theft, fake notes). This is why COD fees apply regardless of who handles the physical delivery.
